About the Resort
Monasterace is a small town on the Ionian Coast just a short drive north of Bianco and Roccella Jonica. Perched on a hill top overlooking Monasterace Marina and the glittering Ionian Sea, Monasterace is a traditional Calabrian town, clinging to the side of a hill, dotted with churches, narrow streets and plenty of character. The town is divided into two distinct parts - the mountains and the sea, the latter being ideal for sun seekers, water sports fans or for scuba divers keen on underwater archeology. The region's perfect climate is the reason people flock to the Ionian coast - even in winter, temperatures are mild.

About the Area
Monesterace, like the neighbouring towns of Caulonia and Roccella Jonica, has plenty of religious and gastronomic festivals to celebrate. During August there are several important festivals, notably Tarantella Power which celebrates the fiery passionate tarantella dance that originated in Calabria.

There are two airports, Lamezia and Reggio Di Calabria within a 55-60 minute drive from Monasterace.
